Are TV/DVD combos reliable?
I am interested in buying a new 22" flat screen tv, and I've noticed that most brands carry a DVD combo version for only $10-$20 more. I've been reading up on past reviews (2+ years ago) and they are all a little wary of these combos. I don't mind spending the extra money for a little convenience, but are they really worth it? Currently I have my eye on Sharp, Viore and Curtis brand tvs.
No. Such units have notoriously high failure rates. You're best off getting a separate TV and DVD player.
But if you do want one, the Sharp would be your best bet.
Do note that you can find DVD players on sale for as little as $25 in some retail stores.
