Wiring socket from lighting circuit - wire gauge?
I need to add a double socket to power a 22" flat screen TV & freesat box. The TV will be wall mounted and is a long way from the ring main in an upstairs room.
I know sockets shouldn't be added to a lighting circuit but it looks to me that when the house has been rewired in the past that socket gauge wire was also used for the light circuit. If so, does this make my plan safe, and how do I tell what gauge the wire is?
