Can anyone tell me if CAT6 wire can be used for a telephone line?
I think CAT6 is 26AWG and regular telephone wire is 24AWG.
Yes it will work fine. But CAT6 is too expensive to use for telephone line just my opinion. Its suitable for Gigabit (1000Megabyte) computer connections. Also, You will need RJ11 connectors on the ends for telephone. Computers use a slightly fatter RJ45 connector. They look and work the same but RJ45 is a little bigger and won't fit in in a telephone.
