Several Guidelines for Measuring a Television Screen
For those who are going to sell their old television, they may need to determine the size of the television before you place it up for sale. It is found that the wide-screen and the standard televisions can have same measurements but they actually do not have the same size. For instance, the 32 inch standard television can come with the aspect ratio of 4:3. Meanwhile, the 32 inch wide-screen television can come with the aspect ratio of 16:9. For that reason, it is very important for you to measure your television with the correct measurement before you are going to sell it. So, these are going to give you some information that will guide you in measuring your television screen.
As the first step, you need to use measuring tape and place the metal part of it in the lower left corner of the television screen. After that, you have to hold this metal part in place using your finger.
The second step is to stretch your measuring tape across to the top of right corner from your television screen. It is important for you to diagonally stretch the measuring tape across your television.
Third step is to write down the result of your measurement. This is to help you in memorizing the measurement that you have taken.
The fourth step that you need to do is to take note in order to determine whether your television is standard or wide screen. If it is known that your television is wide-screen, you can find that the television will be wider and it is not as tall as the standard television. Therefore, you will also find that the 32 inch wide-screen television will seem much larger than the 32 inch standard television.
Lastly, you have to measure the height and width of your television screen. Make sure that you give the complete information to the buyer and try to give explanation that the sizes of television are always measured diagonally.

Mirrored film or glass for LCD TV?
Is there any place where I can buy mirrored film, like the kind used on phones and PDA, large enough to cover my 32 inch LCD TV? If not, where can I buy mirrored glass that will become transparent when the TV is on? I've seen someone on a home improvement show use a piece of glass like this mounted in a frame to hide the TV. Yet, I can't seem to find it for sale anywhere. Before you suggest it, no I do not want to go buy one of the mirrored televisions.
