How to Convert AVI/MKV/AVCHD/FLV to XOOM Tablet for playback
The display on the XOOM is slightly larger than the iPad's 9.7-inch screen, and higher resolution (1280 x 800 to Apple's 1024 x 768). Needless to say, it' s a great enjoyment to watch videos on xoom, Users will be able to watch 1080p HD video on the Xoom and output HD video to other devices via an HDMI slot. Adobe's Flash Player is also on board the Xoom, making it good for viewing Web video. In a word, this Xoom tablet is surely a solid video-playing machine.
But the Xoom tablet only supports MPEG4, H.263, H.264 , Resolution: 1280 x 800 pixels video files. This means that if you have some stunning video files in other formats like AVI, MKV, MOV, VOB, AVCHD, Mod/Tod etc, you can't play them on the Xoom tablet, if you want to enjoy these videos on xoom, you must convert it. HD PVR Setup using an HDMI converter?
I want to buy an Hauppauge HD PVR, but I have one problem, my Monitor is only HDMI. So this is the only solution I can find, but I do not know if this will work.
I want to use a 1 Male to 2 Female HDMI Video/Audio cable
(http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=101&cp_id=10113&cs_id=1011303&p_id=2522&seq=1&format=1#largeimage)
and plug the male end into my Xbox 360's HDMI port.
Then use one HDMI cable to connect one female end into my monitor. Using the last female port, I want to plug an HDMI cable into an HDMI to RGB converter
(http://www.amazon.com/HDMI-Ypbpr-Component-RGB-Converter/dp/B002SFT3ZI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1266795456&sr=8-1).
Then using a double ended RGB Component to plug that into my HD PVR. Will this work?
Yes, provided what you are playing has no HDCP.
