Are all HDMI cables the same?
I have a PS3 that is hooked up to the receiver, and the receiver is hooked up to the TV. I currently have a Accell UltraAV High Speed HDMI Flat Cable for both connections. I was reading around and found out about how HDMI cables are rated in category 1 and 2. I was wondering if the Mediabridge Ultra Series (Category2, $10) HDMI cable would be any better? And I don't know if the HDMI category for my current HDMI cable. I'm looking for a cable that is less than 6 ft.
There are different version of HDMI cables, 1.0, 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 and, 1.4 the newest. Otherwise there's no difference between them, (maybe the durability, and the build quality)
So a 10 dollar HDMI 1.3 is not worse than a 50 dollar HDMI 1.3, but worse than a 50 dollar HDMI1.4.
Unless you want to watch 3D blu ray on your TV, you will not need a HDMI1.4.
