Cambridge Audio announces first Blu-ray player 640BD for 2009
Cambridge Audio will release its first Blu-Ray/DVD/CD player in early 2009. Designed to be the perfect partner to the Azur range of AV Receivers the 640BD features full HDMI 1.3 output,including bit stream output of all the latest HD Dolby and DTS surround-sound systems plus internal decoding of Dolby Digital EX, DTS ES, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby True HD and DTS HR surround-sound. A full set of analog video outputs is supported, HDMI 1.3 video/audio, Ethernet,SPDIF, To slink and separate dedicated 7.1 and stereo analogue outputs.

Supporting Dolby True HD means the 640BD provides audio that matches the original studio masters. weird question but can i get multiple views on this?
if i have a av receiver(YAMAHA RX-V663BL) that upscales to 480p, would that mean that i would be watching an 1080p HDTV in 480p resolution or does my 1080p HDTV trump my av receiver 480p upscaling.
You need to go back and read your manual again. Your receiver does NOT "upscale" to 480p.... (which would hardly be called "upscale". It upscales to 1080p and handles HDMI 1.3, true color, etc. You have a very nice receiver.
You are watching 1080p (unless you have something set up wrong).
