Belkin HDMI Explained
I can't see the difference between when i used components and now i'm using hdmi. So what's wrong with it?
I've just bought HDMI to DVI cable (Belkin Pure AV) to connect my Time Warner Box to my HDTV (Sharp Aquos 32" 720p).
If you are comparing the difference of component video to an HDMI to DVI adapter, you will not see a difference at all. The only time you will really see a difference in the picture quality between component video and HDMI is when you try to display a 1080p signal off of a HD DVD or Blu-Ray player as component video does not support 1080p. All three connections will transfer High Defintion content, but the biggest difference between HDMI over DVI and component is that HDMI transmits, Video, Audio, Control and Formatting. With an HDMI cable you get multi functionality that you can't get with any other cable.
You get uncompressed digital video.
Up to 8 channels of digital audio.
Control - on newer products (Panasonic offers now) you can hit play on your DVD Player and it will automatically switch your TV input and with the Formatting function if the aspect ratio isn't correct it will fix that as well.
Hope this helped you to understand better.
