Can I use a hdmi audio/video cable to connect my laptop to my lcd?
I have a macbook pro and I wanted to connect it to my lcd tv. I was just wondering if I could use this: http://www.amazon.com/Belkin-PureAV-AV22300-12-12-Foot-HDMI/dp/B000HE74LC/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1251585905&sr=8-12 instead of having 2 connections one for hdmi video and a separate audio link. By getting this hdmi audio/video cable will it work the same way with just one connection?
(I do have a micro dvi to hdmi converter)
it depends on the type of output your laptop has. the ones i see at work they all have a VGA output. so HDMI or DVI is unnecessary. whatever type of out put your laptop has thats the cable you start looking for. then on the back of the TV you look at what type of inputs it has. some have a VGA input. so a VGA to VGA cable is fine. but a 1080p TV needs a better type of cable than a VGA if you want to display the laptop on the TV at full 1080P but TVS have other resolutions that a VGA cable will display so its not mandatory. if your laptop has a DVI OUTPUT then yeah go ahead and use DVI and HDMI and all that jazz
