BenQ plans to launch 40 inches LED TVs in 2010

According to Peter Chen, corporate executive VP and general manager of central technology product, BenQ plans to launch 2 or 3 LED TV models in the range of 40 inches in the first half of 2010. This would be a world-wide release according to Peter Chen. Danny Yao, general manager of BenQ Taiwan said the LED-backlit panels will be provided by the AU Optronics (AUO) its sister company. Market sources have indicated that BenQ LED TV will be available for less than Rs. 58512 compared to Samsung's current models, which are in the range of approx Rs. 88916. Chen noted that the price difference between LED TV and LCD TV will continue to fall, and prices LED TV will fall to a level acceptable price for all users in the second half of 2010.
Wow, thats a great news... Well i was planning to go for HD LCD TV which i could use for my computer's monitor too... LED seems to be a better choice... How long will it take to reach India? Can anyone help me with it? I would like to wait for this one
Yeah, LEDs are far more better then LCD as its a low power consumption technology... Would love to own one. I am very much satisfied with the BenQ LCD i own... So i would go for the LED TV from BenQ as it is cheaper and a known brand...
As far as i know, in the news its already mentioned that it will be world wide launch. So its better to wait and watch

Is it a good idea to buy LCD TVs from Thailand?

- Is it cheap in Thailand compared to India?
- Is it safe to bring it back to India as a checked in baggage?
- Do we get International warrenty?

is cots shipping / handle charge / import tax to bring it to India.
May cause damage during transport .( check in baggage )
Warranty only cover in Thailand.
Sony / Samsung may cover international warranty. but ONLY FOR PARTS. you need to paid SKY HIGH SERVICES CHARGE TO Local services agent.
not a good ideal . is cheap now but end up costs more and inconvenience.
