How do I get my PS3 to work using composite cable?
Hi,
I've just bought a marvellous HD TV, and plugged my PS3 into the component plugs. Audio is fine, but the picture is grainy and washed out. I have 5 component sockets, but only 3 plugs on the supplied cable.
Can I do anything to rectify?
(this is a temporary measure, as I have ordered enough HDMI cables to run everything without switching...)

I too just bought a HDTV and had some issues. My quick fix was to check and see how the TV works. I have a samsung and needed to switch to the composite setting under "source" to get the better picture. The 5 prongs you are referring to is similar to the HD cable that comes with the xbox360. Unfortunately PS3 just has the Red White Yellow composite.
Or you could just deal with the grainy picture for a few days until the hdmi comes in
