Discount Consumer Electronics Online - Where Is The Best Place To Buy Branded Electronics ?
The Internet has to be the best place to buy electronics. No waiting in line, fast delivery and the cheapest possible prices. An endless collection of products and the ability to compare prices from 1000's of online retailers is a real bonus for many consumers. I now order all of my electronics using the Internet and the general trend suggests that more and more people are making many more online purchases everyday. It's just so much easier and convenient.

Well, obvious you need to consider the PRICE. This is probably the most important factor for most consumers and rightly so. Is a $250 4 yr service plan worth it on the Samsung 46" Touch of Color 650 TV?
I recently purchased the above mentioned television. I paid about $1600 after tax (employee discount at retail store) but it normally retails for $2200. I have this month to decide whether or not I want to spend the extra 250 to get the 4 year service plan.
I had a 40" Samsung LCD TV before this one for over a year and never experienced a problem.
I know the plan would provide piece of mind, but to your knowledge, are there any known issues with the TV I purchased or would I be better off saving the $250?
I've heard that the failure rate of new LCD tvs is below 10% (I have no clue if that's true) and that Samsung is one of the top brands.

Samsung is definitely one of the best brands out there today.
I personally dont do service plans and heres why:
If the TV does fail it will usually happen within the first year. When that happens you will still have the one year warranty through the manufacturer yourself since this comes included free of charge.
Secondly, If it does make it passed that first year with no harm chances are it will last atleast 3-4 years. If it happens to fail in year 3 or 4 I can honestly say I can live with that. I would rather then put that $250 into a TV down the line at that time then to have the same broken TV "fixed". Anyways it would be considered old at that time and ill be able to find something cheaper and better at that time.
Just my 2 cents and something I think you should keep in mind.
