Buying a TV– First time?
Ok, I’m buying my first TV in my adult life. Scary, I made it to almost 32 before buying a TV. I have digital cable in my new place and want to get a flat screen, I’m leaning toward LCD, television. Here’s where I’m running into trouble. I’m not a gamer or a really big TV watcher. I will watch a movie from time-to-time on DVD. I want to make sure that what I buy will be compatible with digital cable. Also, what is with this big warning about analog tuners no longer being able to receive signals after 2009? Is this something I should be overly concerned about? I don’t want to buy a TV that doesn’t work with my cable system. Ultimately, I’d like something in the 20 inches range. I don’t have a large place, but just want to be able to relax on the couch and watch something if I so desire. Any directions or guidance would be appreciated.
Be sure you buy an HD TV with built in atsc tuner and not a HD TV monitor or ready TV. If you want to to last be sure to spend a bit more and get a good quality tv and not on something on the lower end of the scale. Around that size range I personally like the samsung 19″ lnt1953H midel. Has the tuner built in, has a great picture and I can use it as a computer monitor. If you have digital cable a tuner won’t really affect you since you have a digital cable box and that will server as your tuner box unless you get a tv monitor then it might not have a coax input.
